The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Faculty is committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all of our students as preparation for a successful career. Thus students need to acquire broad, long half-life understanding of the fundamental tenets of chemical engineering, which is provided in the core courses, specialized knowledge of great depth, provided in elective courses and the ability to define, attack and resolve original problems, which is the outcome of thesis research. You can begin this relationship by planning your first meeting s ahead of time so that you discuss the topics that are important to you. Use the following checklist for self-reflection and to plan initial meetings with your adviser in light of what you identify as your goals and expectations for graduate school. There are many possible topics you could discuss during your first meeting with your adviser.

All policies and procedures dealing with graduate student progress are monitored by the Degrees office of the Graduate Division.
